Antminer S19 XP

The Antminer S19 XP is the most powerful air-cooled Bitcoin mining ASIC on the market today.

Its hash rate ranges between 134-140 TH/s with an efficiency of 21.5 TH/s. The S19 XP’s dashboards use industry-leading 5nm chips and the mining rig consumes roughly 3250 watts.

The model is still very new and supply is largely concentrated among larger miners who placed S19 XPs on preorder, but they are starting to trickle into the secondary market.

Antminer S19 XP firmware

The Antminer S19 XP comes with stock firmware, but there are also third-party firmware options that can enhance the miner's performance.

Firmware is a type of software the gives directions to computing hardware, and Bitcoin miners use firmware to increase/decrease a Bitcoin mining ASIC’s hashrate by increasing/decresing power consumption. Miners can use firmware to balance their hashrate production and power consumption to find a sweet spot for their rig’s power efficiency.

The Whatsminer M50S+ is the latest and most powerful ASIC from MicroBTC. Its hashrate and efficiency put it in a league with the Antminer S19 XP: ~130-140 TH/s with an efficiency of 24 J/TH at 3500W.

Like it’s younger cousin, the S19 XP, the S19j Pro comes with stock firmware but also has third-party firmware that can enhance its performance.

Luxor’s LuxOS has support for Antminer S19j Pros with Xilinx hashboards.

Another variant in MicroBT’s M50 series, the Whatsminer M50S is a highly efficient bitcoin mining ASIC with a hashrate that can range between 118-126 TH/s. It has a power efficiency of 26 J/TH.

The Whatsminer M50S comes with stock firmware. Third party firmware providers like LuxOS don’t provide support at this time because of the way MicroBT designs its hashboards. Firmware teams like Luxorcare working figure it out, so keep your eyes peeled!

The Antminer S19 Pro+’s hashrate is in the range of 122 TH/s with an efficiency of 27.5 TH/s.

Currently, Antminer S19 Pro+ stock firmware is the only option for Bitcoin miners. Third party firmware providers like Luxor have yet to release versions for these rigs (sign up to Luxor's changelog for updates).

Many large-scale miners will buy the Whatsminer M30S++ directly from the manufacturer, MicroBT.

The Whatsminer M50 is the lowest efficiency and hashrate model in the M50 series. Still, it is a powerful bitcoin mining ASIC relatively, with a hashrate between 112-118 TH/s and an efficiency of 29 J/TH.

While it is not as efficient or powerful as other newer as the other models mentioned in this article, the M50 is still a great option for miners big or small.

Antminer S19e Pro

The Antminer S19e Pro is a forthcoming Bitcoin mining ASIC from Bitmain. Bitmain’s latest model, the rig will have an efficiency of ~24 J/TH, putting in the class of next-gen machines like the S19 XP and M50s+.

According to early reports from Luxor's RFQ team, it’ll compete with (but not surpass) other next-gen rigs in terms of hashrate and efficiency. Unfortunately, there is little information available about the Antminer S19e Pro. We will update this guide when more information becomes available.

The only firmware available for the Antminer S19e Pro is stock firmware at the moment.

Where to Buy the Antminer S19e Pro

Bitmain will begin selling the S19e Pro in 2022 directly to miners, so they will not enter the secondary market for some time.

When they are available, though, you'll be able to find them on Luxor's RFQ once vendors start trading them.

The Antminer S19 is the eponymous flagship of Bitmain’s S19 series. Released in 2019, the S19 changed the game in terms of power efficiency and hashrate.

Th S19 quickly became favored by miners over the Antminer S17 and Antminer S9. While the S19 is less efficient and powerful than even other models in the S19 series, it’s still a viable Bitcoin miner depending on the miner’s power costs. The S19 model can have a hashrate ranging between 90-96 TH/s, an efficiency of 36-38 J/TH.
